Serta Simmons is seeking a dynamic Territory Manager to join our team in New Hampshire.  In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for cultivating strong partnerships with retailers, developing strategic sales initiatives, and maximizing our market presence.  If you're ready to make an impact in a collaborative environment and contribute to the success of a leading brand in the mattress industry, we want to hear from you!

 

How You'll Do It:

 

Merchandising:
Responsible for collaborating directly with decision-makers at assigned accounts to develop a merchandising strategy that maximizes SSB's potential for profitable growth and market share. This includes refining the strategy as needed to align with the retailer’s objectives and SSB’s goals.

 

Advertising:
Ensure that assigned accounts actively participate in SSB national events and effectively promote these initiatives. This role involves maximizing SSB's volume, profitability, and share of voice during these events by coordinating with retailers and internal cross-functional partners on the marketing calendar, national promotions, and dealer-specific promotions to optimize Co-Op return on investment.

 

Display:
Oversee the strategic placement of SSB products to ensure preferred visibility. This includes maintaining high-quality samples and providing appropriate point-of-purchase materials to enhance the in-store experience. Regular inspections will ensure that price cards reflect current market pricing for MSRP/MAP products, and non-MAP products are competitively priced. Additionally, ensure that all pricing is updated to reflect the latest promotions as applicable.

 

Pricing:
Lead the deployment of SSB pricing programs across assigned accounts, driving strategic pricing actions and contract negotiations to maximize profitability. This role requires ensuring that SSB maintains competitive retail pricing within assigned accounts.

 

Training:
Ensure that staff at assigned accounts are well-trained on SSB products, with readily available training materials tailored to specific product assortments. Leverage the Sleepsells platform to empower retail sales associates to advocate for SSB products over competitors. Collaborate with the omni retail solutions team to provide monthly updates on sales plans and training priorities, ensuring the focus remains on key objectives during store visits.

Basic Understanding Required:

  • General Management/Self-Leadership: Ability to meet objectives and follow through to drive desired outcomes.
  • Customer Collaboration: Proven ability to engage with customers at the C-suite level, actively listen, and develop strategies and programs that align with mutual goals. Must excel in customer-facing situations.

 

What You'll Bring:

 

Experience

  • 1-3 years of overall professional experience, with a preference for 1+ years in the furniture or mattress industry.
  • Proven experience managing a territory exceeding $2 million.
  • Strong preference for candidates with sales training experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving results, particularly in resource-limited environments.

Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, with up to 25% of travel requiring overnight stays if necessary.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
