Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance and facilitating and managing the activities of maintenance employees to ensure timely equipment and tool repair and effective preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
Foster a strong safety culture by implementing safety policies and training in compliance with company standards and OHS regulations to reduce workplace injuries
Partner with the Operations Manager and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to investigate and report incidents involving equipment, machinery or tools
Lead and oversee daily maintenance operations for the plant including equipment, facilities (fire protection/security) and grounds, while managing maintenance and labour costs
Oversee installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and inspection of equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance
Evaluate and request necessary tools, equipment, and supplies; inspect completed work to ensure it meets specifications, quality and safety standards
Establish and refine maintenance procedures to support production schedules and operational efficiency
Provide or coordinate ongoing maintenance training and evaluations for plant personnel
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and overall plant operations; implement new programs as needed
Maintain preventive maintenance program
On site contact for all Contractors
Track and manage key maintenance KPIs, including OEE, work order completion rate, PM completion rate and equipment downtime
Participate in Kaizen Projects to foster maintenance improvements
All other duties as assigned by Operations Manager

Experience/Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Red Seal Certification an asset
5+ years in Safety and Risk programs
Lean/Six Sigma experience (Green Belt preferred)
Electrical certification an asset
Job Factors/Work Environments
Exposure to typical hazards found in a manufacturing environment.
Occasional lifting of heavy or bulky materials.
Primarily active/mobile work throughout the manufacturing plant and warehousing/distribution areas.
Up to 10% travel.
