What You'll Do:

 

Join Serta Simmons Bedding as a Quality Technician II in our Greene/Coxsackie, NY plant, where you’ll play a key role in driving quality excellence and supporting high-volume production. 

How You'll Do It:

  • Perform End‑of‑Line (EOL) inspections and verify product compliance with critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements.
  • Conduct Initial Material Inspections and incoming raw material quality checks.
  • Perform Roll Coater Glue Checks, Glue Pot Checks, and verify adhesive application consistency.
  • Complete IFD/ILD testing and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Conduct Finished Goods (FS) Inspections per quality standards.
  • Support Mattress booting, scanning, tagging, and rejection tag completion when required.
  • Execute Process Audits, GMP audits, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Audit Production CTQ defects, defect trends, and process stability.
  • Review SQDCP boards, update daily/weekly metrics, and communicate quality issues.
  • Perform Shop Floor audits, verify standard work adherence, and confirm operator compliance.
  • Conduct Teardown audits and root‑cause defect investigations.
  • Support A3 projects, Lean activities, Time Studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in completing MD Forms and maintaining the MD process flow.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of organizational process flow and how quality impacts production.
  • Provide support for Shop Floor issues—troubleshooting defects, answering quality questions, and guiding operators.
  • Participate in NPI launches, ensuring quality readiness and documenting early defect findings.
  • Manage 4 people team
  • Reports to CI&Quality Manager

What You'll Bring:

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of relevant manufacturing experience, including at least one year in a quality role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or actively working toward certification

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Statistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Lean training or certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis software
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and/or database software
  • Previous experience training or leading others
