How You'll Do It:


This role will handle the tape edge closer machine and work on prototypes and samples for the Serta Simmons Bedding organization.


Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Adhering to company Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost initiatives.
  • Recommend internal and external raw material requirements.
  •  Assist in the development of Work Assembly Instructions.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance for assigned equipment.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance-report machine malfunctions.
  • Recommend equipment changes.
  • Recommend production and process methods.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Cross train to perform various sewing functions including but not limited to; Box
  • Spring Sewing, Label Sewing, Panel/Border Over Casting, Panel/Border Repair, Pillow
  • Top Sewing/Blind Stitch, and Flat Panel Cutting.
  • Cross train to Back up Panel/Quilt Machine Operator.
  • Pack out, shipping and receiving.
  •  Management reserves the right to add to or modify the duties and/or responsibilities.
Additional responsibilities include:
  •  2-3 years of previous Closing/Matt Finish and sewing experience in an industrial setting preferred.
  •  High School degree or equivalent
  • Up to 10% travel towards offsite locations to set up sample prototype products 
  • Frequent walking, lifting, sitting at sewing machine and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Overtime and occasional Saturday work if need be

The hiring salary range for this position applies to where legally required, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
