Position Overview:

The Head of E-Commerce will be a seasoned executive responsible for overseeing all aspects of SSB e-commerce, inclusive of all DTC and B2B2C channels (ex. Amazon, Wayfair, etc.).  This position will develop and lead execution of the e-Commerce strategy and operations for SSB, including marketing, promotion, branding, website management, and technical oversight. This role will ensure a seamless and integrated customer experience across all digital touchpoints to enhance customer satisfaction to drive growth of the individual brand topline revenue.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in e-commerce, digital marketing, and retail operations, with a deep understanding of how to integrate these elements to create a cohesive omni-channel strategy.  Additionally, this role involves close collaboration with e-commerce/brand agencies to ensure they meet our expectations and deliver exceptional service to drive our KPIs. The role will also be responsible for crafting and optimizing the roadmap for the tech stack, ad stack, and affiliate programs to drive revenue, conversion rates, return on ad spend (ROAS) and overall consumer engagement.

 

What You'll Do:

 

Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement an e-commerce and omni-channel strategy and roadmap to deliver targeted revenue and EBITDA growth through a differentiated and compelling end-to-end experience.

  • Create and manage a consumer-centric and data-driven strategic plan for the SSB portfolio of brands.

  • Identify and leverage key performance metrics to drive decisions and improvements in omni-channel initiatives.

  • Oversee the integration of various sales channels (e.g., website, mobile, physical stores, social media) to ensure a seamless and consistent customer journey that results in financial and market share growth.

 

Marketing and Promotion Management:

  • Oversee eCommerce promotion and ad spend to optimize conversion rates and drive revenue.

  • Lead the marketing function and teams (both internal and external) to develop and execute digital go-to-market campaigns across the customer lifecycle stages (awareness, consideration, conversion, engagement, retention).

  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute digital marketing strategies and tracking with insights generated through analysis of site performance, customer site behavior, and sales data.

  • Integrate feedback from customer service and customer research into site functionality.

 

User Experience Optimization:

  • Own and manage technical infrastructure of DTC sites, ensuring a consistent, streamlined, and engaging customer experience

  • Develop user flows to align marketing tactics with a seamless, intuitive, and brand-building on-site experience.

  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to coordinate work with the Creative and Product teams, assessing risks and trade-offs to meet goals and KPIs.

Brand Differentiation and Market Analysis:

  • Establish brand differentiation and sustain success through continuous analysis of market trends, competitive influences, and performance of digital outlets, including demographic and gap analyses.

 

Innovation and Revenue Model Development:

  • Drive innovation by researching and implementing new revenue models, such as product bundles and abandoned cart promotions, as well as emerging DTC commerce revenue models to capture new customers and meet evolving customer expectations.

 

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee operational functions that support digital Direct-To-Consumer brand expressions and all eCommerce outlets within the enterprise, including online merchandising and the functional operation of transactional technology platforms.

  • Ensure the production of search/digital marketing optimized content, including both copy and imagery.

 

Financial Accountability:

  • Hold P&L responsibility and be accountable for both short-term results and broader long-term strategy.

  • Diagnose headwinds and tailwinds impacting the business and derive actionable plans to meet or exceed targets.

 

What You'll Need:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

  • Significant experience in digital marketing and e-commerce

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing e-commerce and digital marketing strategies.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience managing P&L and driving financial performance.

 

Familiarity with current e-commerce technology platforms, digital marketing tools, and best practices.
