What You'll Do:


You will plan, execute and report on audits/reviews that evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of accounting, financial, operating and IT systems controls and activities, and compliance with established policies, procedures, laws and regulations that could have a significant impact on operations.


You will identify and recommend improvements to business processes, including manufacturing plant processes, which will enhance organizational effectiveness and company performance.


You will manage and execute Sarbanes-Oxley testing, communicates on results and evaluates remediation of failed controls.


You will support external audit direct assistance, operational audits, plant audits, and other internal audit projects at an on-demand basis.


You will seek for the continuous evaluation of the Audit Universe through the performance of comprehensive and holistic analyses.


You will develop audit findings and recommendations to management as well as assist in the preparation of reports to management using clear and concise grammar.


How You'll Do It:


Build relationships with key process owners to become a trusted business partner.


Support the internal Quality Assurance and Improvement Program to maintain compliance with The Institute of Internal Auditors' International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.


Bring thought leadership, leading practice frameworks, and process improvements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.


Manage and supervise internal staff/senior level auditors, or outsourced auditors, either through direct reporting line, or per audit engagement.


Strong professional judgment, critical thinking and written/oral communication skills (e.g. persuasion, influence, conflict resolution).


Subject matter expertise in auditing and enterprise risk management concepts (e.g., risk assessment/prioritization, process and internal controls, root cause analysis).


Strong knowledge of internal audit and internal control principles, financial and operational processes, risks and risk management.


What You'll Bring:


A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field.


A professional certification (CPA/CIA/CISA).


Track record of effectively assessing and managing competing priorities to deliver high quality and timely work.


Experience in developing a risk based annual audit plan, staffing assignments, and applying individual judgment in determining audit coverage.


Strong relationship management, communication and interpersonal skills to interact comfortably and persuasively with senior/executive level management.


Ability to travel (within North America) approximately 15%.


The following are preferred and considered a plus, but not required:


  • Prior "Big Four" public accounting and public company experience.


  • Multi-location experience in a manufacturing company.


  • Prior experience within a business undergoing significant change and transformation.




An advanced degree, specifically MBA or other Master's level degree.


10+ years of relevant work experience in internal and/or external audit.


Experience in Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance.


Possess a high energy level, intellectual curiosity and a strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic and changing environment.


Experience working, implementing and auditing key risk frameworks including COSO, ISO, NIST.


Experience in leading, coaching and developing team members.
