Compensation:

 

$90,000 - $110,000 Per Year 

 

Compensation is based on degrees, certificates and experience.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Lead and champion all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives for the facility, fostering a culture where safety is a core value and shared responsibility.
  • Partner closely with plant leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety, environmental compliance, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and company EHS requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS programs, policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence and improve workplace safety.
  • Lead and coordinate safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities throughout the facility.
  • Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and new hires.
  • Support onboarding efforts by ensuring all employees receive thorough safety orientation and training prior to beginning work.
  • Utilize EHS performance metrics, observations, and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and drive actionable results.
  • Partner with operations leaders to integrate Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies into safety and environmental programs.
  • Manage workers' compensation, return-to-work processes, and injury case management in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Maintain all required environmental, health, and safety records, reports, permits, and documentation.
  • Act as a trusted resource and coach to leaders and employees by promoting accountability, engagement, and ownership of safety initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across departments to influence positive change and continuously improve the site's safety culture.

How You'll Do It:

 

  • Build strong relationships and credibility with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Lead by influence, fostering a proactive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and accountability.
  • Utilize data, trends, and key performance indicators to identify risks, prioritize initiatives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and human resources teams to integrate safety into daily business practices.
  • Effectively communicate EHS expectations, regulatory requirements, and best practices across the facility.
  • Develop and deliver impactful training programs that increase employee knowledge, engagement, and compliance.
  • Drive change by identifying opportunities for improvement and leading initiatives that enhance safety, environmental performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Apply Lean principles and structured problem-solving techniques to eliminate hazards, reduce risk, and improve processes.
  • Conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on support by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leverage technology and EHS management systems to track compliance activities, analyze performance, and support informed decision-making.


 

What You'll Bring:

 

  • 5+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Proven ability to conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, hazard assessments, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience leading safety training programs, onboarding new employees, and reinforcing a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Ability to influence change and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, problem-solving tools, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong partnership skills with operations, maintenance, human resources, and plant leadership teams.
  • Experience analyzing data, tracking key performance indicators, and using metrics to drive decision-making and improve safety performance.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing EHS management systems and reporting tools.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience is preferred but not require


 Preferred: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, or another related field
  • Board certified ASP, OHST, CSP, QEP, CIH or  other recognized certification/diplomas AND Technical/Management expertise in the areas of Human Operation Performance (HOP), Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, Behavior Based Safety (BBS), ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and EHS related systems are preferred.
