What You'll Do:

 

  • Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment
  • Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements; repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements
  • Form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials
  • Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing
  • Replenish all the base pads and rails for production line
  • Deliver all the borders and panels for production line
  • 5S Champion for North Wall-Cleaning up Skids, (arranging by Size), U- Racks, Trash, Skids.
  • Remove bales from the baling machine once it is full.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures defined by the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries.
  • Practices Lean principles and participates in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products per specified standards.

 

What You'll Need to be Successful:

 

Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must have prior forklift experience
  • High school diploma or GED required

 

Preferred:

  • Good eye/hand coordination
  • Ability to interpret and support standards, policies and procedures established by Serta, Serta Inc. and Federal/State/Local agencies
  • Entry level with little or no experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing operations environment

 

Job Factors/Work Environments

 

Work requires a consistent work pace at or above established minimum efficiency standards (generally 125% minimum). Work involves lifting and or moving materials on a regular basis weighing up to 160 pounds. Work also involves exposure to usual hazards found in a manufacturing environment. Work may involve frequent overtime.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
