What You'll Do:

 

The Field Sales Representative plays a critical role in overall field execution strategy and leads Serta Simmons Beddings’ efforts to protect and grow market share, improve profitability, and expand retailer relationships.

The Field Sales Representative will drive sales activities for an assigned territory through the implementation of company strategy and ensures strategic and tactical alignment with key stakeholders and business partners to grow business profitability.

Responsible for coordinating and leading training events and retail partner collaboration to drive initiatives for increased sales and market share of Serta Simmons Bedding product portfolio.

How You'll Do It:

 

Communicates Effectively:

• Ability to coordinate and lead formal and informal training events in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small, and large groups or different position levels

• Effectively communicate product promotions, upcoming events, and new product launches

• Proactively share best practices and actionable strategies to maximize brand performance

• Facilitate and lead ongoing retailer Top Management partnership meetings, demonstrating strong commitment to joint business objectives

 

Plans and Aligns:

• Establish sales objectives by creating a territory sales plan in support of regional sales objectives

• Collaborate across internal cross-functional teams to align on key tasks and activities and provide periodic and ad hoc updates

• Ability to prioritize store visit activities to identify and execute on opportunities to maximize impact, increase advocacy, and sell through

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with decisions makers at key retailers to align on Serta Simmons Bedding strategic and retail objectives

 

Drives Results:

 • Develop and execute territory-level action plan to increase sales of Serta Simmons Bedding, grow market share and revenue productivity

• Establish sales priorities, action plans and participate in retailer activities and functions

• Utilize sales activity reporting tools to prioritize store visit activities and execute on expense forecast

• Recommend, suggest, and structure territory sales programs that will create increased business opportunities

Functional/Technical Competencies

• Develop Top Management relationships within top retailers to understand local strategies and align on collaborative customer solutions to grow sales and scale

• Maintain a customer focus mindset in all territory initiatives. Serve as a strategic partner to build customer centric solutions

• Assume active ownership of assigned sales territory and respond to specific market needs, initiate needed action

 

Resourcefulness:

• Adapt quickly to changing resources and understand how to separate and combine tasks into an efficient workflow

• Utilize sales activity reporting tools to prioritize store visit activities and execute on expense forecast

• Provide partners with tools, ideas, and resources to improve in store sales performance and drive profitable growth

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with at least 2 years training and/or retail selling experience with strong preference towards the bedding, furniture, durables, or other premium consumer product categories
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and prioritization of tasks
  • Demonstrate a track record of successful partner relationships that result in the achievement of sales objectives
  • Effective communicator, able to convey both written and verbal messages clearly and concisely
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings to accommodate the needs of the business
  • Expert in MS Office (Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Up to 90% travel and 30%-40% overnights in the territory
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required

The hiring salary range for this position applies to where legally required, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
