Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads strategic quality projects.
  • Support new product launch.
  • Monitors customer data such as warranty and customer complaints to drive overall improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Visit customer locations to understand and resolve issues, as appropriate.
  • Conduct plant/supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, communicate and improve key KPI's, DPPM and waste reduction
  • Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with plants, suppliers and/or customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
  • Assures Manufacturing Quality; Implements CTQ/SPC/Error Proofing Controls at every level, develops RCA and implements Corrective Actions and gauge control (calibration, specify, acquire).
  • Manages and maintains Supplier Quality relations, reviews/manages/escalates Supplier RCA/Corrective Actions, introduces new products at site.
  • ID, plan and execute Quality training at site (Specification, procedures, customer requirements, tools/methods).
  • Participate/ facilitate qualification of new equipment

Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office and Mini-TAB applications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Production based Quality tools: Charting, Control Plans, MSA, Capability studies, SPC, Error Proofing Process Improvement etc.
  • Understanding of project management (experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies 8-D, Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, Fishbone, etc
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing and the ability to travel abroad.


  • BS in technical or Business field
  • 3 years as an Associate QE at SSB and/or 3+ years in an Associate QE role in a manufacturing environment

Job Factors/Work Environments

  • 10% travel.
  • Work is both sedentary in nature (office) and involves walking, measuring, lifting parts and routine engagement on the shop floor.
