What You'll Do:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Territory Manager to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving sales and managing key accounts within your designated territory.

As a Territory Manager, you’ll work closely with retail partners, foster strong relationships, and ensure that Serta Simmons Bedding products are well-represented and actively promoted in the marketplace.

How You'll Do It

Merchandising: Accountable for working directly with the assigned account(s) decision maker(s) to develop a merchandising strategy that provides SSB the greatest opportunity to drive profitable growth and share at the account. Additionally, responsible for working to refine said strategy as needed to meet the needs of both the retailer and SSB.

Advertising: Accountable for ensuring the assigned account(s) are not only participating in SSB national events, but also advertising said events to maximize SSBs volume, profitability, and share of voice during said times. Responsible for working directly with the retailer (and internal cross-functional partners as needed) on marketing calendar, national promotions, and dealer specific promotions to maximize Co-Op return on investment and SSB share of voice.

Display: Accountable for ensuring that SSB products have preferred placements, ensure samples meet top quality standards, and have the proper POP material to ensure the customer is getting the best in-store experience on SSB products. Responsible for inspecting that all price cards accurately reflect the current market price (on MSRP/MAP products) and that non-map products are competitively priced at retail. In addition, ensuring that all pricing is updated with the most current promotion (as applicable).

Pricing: Accountable for deploying SSB pricing programs to assigned account(s). Responsible for leading cross-functional strategic pricing actions and contract negotiations (as needed) to drive maximum profitability for SSB, while ensuring SSB has competitive retail pricing at assigned account(s).

Training: Accountable for ensuring assigned account(s) are properly trained on SSB products and that training materials to assigned specific product assortment are readily available (including the use of sleepsells platform) ensuring retail sales associates advocate for SSB products than other vendors on the floor. Responsible for partnering with omni retail solutions team (as needed) to provide monthly dealer update on sales plan and training priorities, along with other items as needed to ensure team is focusing on the appropriate items while doing store visits.

  • General Management/Self Leadership – Ability to deliver against your objectives and follow through on them to drive desired results
  • Customer Collaboration -Proven ability to engage with customers C-suite – Buyer, actively listen, develop strategies and programs to achieve mutual goals. Needs to be outstanding in front of customers
 

What You'll Bring:

Experience

  • 1-3 years of overall experience W/ 1+ years of furniture/mattress experience preferred
  • Experience in managing a territory greater than $2m
  • Experience in sales training strongly preferred
  • Consistently proven ability to drive results … need to demonstrate ability to drive results in a resource/system limited environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum

Job Factors/Work Environments

Up to 80% travel

Up to 25% overnights if needed

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
