What You'll Do:

 

In the Direct-to-Consumer Planning Manager role, you will be responsible for the development of accurate annual and seasonal financial plans (sales, margin, inventory) and in-season forecasts that support the merchandise strategy and financial objectives of tuftandneedle.com, serta.com, beautyrest.com, simmons.com and Tuft & Needle retail stores. This role will partner closely with Finance to tie to the P&L, the Supply Chain team to align on optimal inventory levels and purchases and our Category Management & Marketing teams to understand item and trade strategies that shape demand. Successful candidates will be excellent analysts, effective communicators, and strong collaborators that are committed to improving and growing their business.

 

  • Create and maintain preseason buy plans for multiple categories and product families, across all brands and revenue channels in the Direct-to-Consumer division.
  • Forecast sales, margin and inventory position on a weekly/monthly/seasonal basis at multiple levels of detail.
  • Recap category performance, reviewing variance to plan and assess any deviations to current trend. Build action plans to address variances with cross-functional partners and drive resolution of those action plans.
  • Analyze weekly/monthly reporting and read out overall performance, drivers and detractors during weekly sales and monthly open to buy meetings.
  • Co-lead quarterly investment reviews with category management & marketing to get leadership buy-in for strategies & purchases.
  • Forecast sales and margin and coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure there is adequate inventory for promotional activity and perform analysis on promotion success at product and category level.
  • Manage monthly open-to-buy (OTB) process in partnership with Supply Chain to ensure alignment with inventory buying and revenue targets.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to provide timely and accurate re-projections based upon current trends to effectively manage inventory.
  • Lead quarterly hindsight reports to drive strategic assortment decisions for future quarters and in-season management.
  • Help shape DTC process for category financial planning and inventory management

What You'll Bring:

 

  • 3-5 years ecommerce retail planning or category management experience, knowledge of retail math and attainment of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills; including ability to think and plan strategically related to supply chain execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration with history of developing partnerships with critical stakeholders, peers and cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple sources of data and prioritize issues towards a singular goal
  • Proactive thinking, initiative and composure in a fast-paced environment
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
