Operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspects final product for defects and, if approved, move through packaging machine.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Inspect finished product for defects
- Remove defective pieces from line and bring to repair station
- Log and report defects accordingly
- Send finished piece through the packaging machine
- Maintain cleanliness in work area
- Perform related duties as assigned
Functional/Technical Competencies
• Knowledge of mattress construction and components (foam, coils, ticking, labels, foundations, etc.)
• Ability to identify cosmetic and functional defects
• Understanding of quality standards and acceptable tolerances
• Inspection accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to verify correct model, size, firmness, and configuration
• Understanding of customer-specific requirements and specifications
Experience/Education
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Basic math skills
• Aptitude for computers
• Previous sewing machine experience in an industrial setting
• Attention to detail is a must
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively in a safe manner
