Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Production Manager and Plant Operations Manager, the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for providing support to the management team, production supervisors and plant employees.  This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day shipping and receiving demands of the plant.

•    Follows and implements all workplace health and safety regulations.
•      Fosters positive working relationships. Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints, first step grievances and other employee relations matters in partnership with Managers and Human Resources 
•    Delegates work and provides leadership to the shipping and receiving team made up of
       o    Traffic Coordinators
       o    Shippers, Receivers, Stagers, Loaders and janitorial staff including bailers
•    Ensures Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of both shipping and receiving are enforced and followed by all direct reports.
•    Monitors the route planning, truck assignment, dock door allocation in order to utilize the resources and deliver the right product to the right customer at the right time.
•    Checks all back dated orders and arranges the delivery.  
•    Manages time sequencing of truck unloading and loading.
•    Controls the physical inventory of Finished Goods.
•    Supervises the warehouse operation, 6S, and material housekeeping. 
•    Coordinates movement of production scraps and wastes and arranges for proper disposal.
•    Completes records accurately and completely, including all paper work.
•    Performs auditing of shipments received and shipments ready for release as required.
•    Ensures the received materials schedule is maintained and followed.
•    Performs disciplinary actions as required in regards to safety, code of conduct violations and any performance issues.
•    Assists in the hiring and training of all new employees.
•    Trouble shoots any customer service and vendor issues as they are escalated by the Traffic or Receiving Coordinators.
•    Supervises the Foundation Assembly department
•    Organizes and supervises the daily manufacturing functions of the Foundation Assembly department, ensuring timely completion of production schedules. Coordinates with Production/Operations Manager and other departmental Supervisors in order to attain production, delivery, cost and quality objectives 
•    Holds daily production meetings and sets expectations for the day 
•    Maintains information for daily management reports and prepares various other reports as requested  
•    Uses Lean manufacturing principles to continuously improve associates and the flow of production  
•    Controls use of raw materials, preventing all unnecessary waste, and schedules and controls utilization of labor, preventing excess hours, downtime and overtime 
•    Provides initial and on-going training and evaluation to assigned production personnel related to job duties and performance expectations, job processes, equipment and quality programs

Experience/Education

Desired:

  • Min. 5 years shipping/receiving experience or supply chain
  •  Min. 3 years of supervisory experience

Job Factors/Work Environments

No travel required.

Work is primarily active in nature in plant. Lifting of heavy objects required.
